Description
This assay uses the Luminex® 200™ platform.
Consider this assay for a thorough analysis of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) in serum, plasma, and synovial fluid samples.
This advanced array features two assays conducted simultaneously from a single small sample volume. By running both assays concurrently, we deliver efficient, high-quality results, providing insights from two distinct assays with a rapid turnaround time.
The Human MMP and TIMP 13-Plex Discovery Assay® Array (HMMP/TIMP-S,P) measures MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9, TIMP-1, and TIMP-4, among others, providing insights into extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue homeostasis.
TIMPs play a crucial role in regulating MMP activity, and an imbalance between these molecules is linked to conditions like arthritis, cardiovascular disorders, and cancer. For example, MMP-9 is a key marker in cancer metastasis and chronic inflammation. TIMP levels can serve as valuable cancer biomarkers, reflecting tumor progression and survival. Additionally, TIMPs have unique functions beyond MMP inhibition, such as TIMP-1’s role in enhancing erythroid activity and in inhibiting excessive matrix degradation and TIMP-2’s suppression of EGF-mediated signaling.
Ideal for studies focused on cancer progression, tissue fibrosis, and inflammatory diseases, this assay helps elucidate the role of MMPs and TIMPs in pathological processes.
Please note that the manufacturer has removed TIMP-3 from this panel. While we still have TIMP-3 available, the wells are limited, so availability may vary.
